Applications Now Being Accepted for Special Turkey Hunts at Lake Mendocino - Feb. 18, 2011The Department of Fish and Game (DFG) is accepting applications for spring wild turkey hunts, including several for youth hunters and mobility impaired hunters. Three such weekends of hunting are being offered by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) at Lake Mendocino, in cooperation with DFG?s Northern Region and Game Bird Heritage Program. Several hunting opportunities are designed for a hunter to share his or her hunting experience with a guest.
Drawings Planned for 2010 Lake Sonoma Fall Turkey Hunts - Oct. 12, 2010
The permit drawing application deadline is approaching for two fall turkey hunts planned for the Lake Sonoma Turkey Hunt Program. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) is providing this special hunting opportunity in cooperation with the Department of Fish and Game (DFG). The hunts will be held on USACE property surrounding Lake Sonoma in Sonoma County.
Wild Turkey Clinic to be offered in Manteca - Jan. 13, 2010
A wild turkey hunting clinic will be offered in Manteca on February 13. Co-sponsored by the California Department of Fish and Game (DFG), the National Wild Turkey Federation's (NWTF) Foothill Bearded Flyers Chapter and Bass Pro Shops, the one-day clinic will provide information on hunting turkeys during winter and fall hunting seasons.
DFG to Co-Sponsor Wild Turkey Clinic in San Diego County - Oct. 23, 2009
The California Department of Fish and Game (DFG) and the National Wild Turkey Federation's (NWTF) San Diego chapter will co-sponsor a wild turkey hunting clinic Nov. 7. The clinic will be held at the Rancho Jamul Ecological Reserve in San Diego County.
