Spring turkey application deadline approaching
Nov. 26, 2008Turkey hunters have until Jan. 9 to apply for the 2009 spring hunt, wherever hunting and fishing licenses are sold, according to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR).
Turkey hunters have more time this year than they have traditionally had in the past to apply for this spring?s hunt, either electronically or by telephone. The deadline to apply for the 2011 spring season has been extended by about two weeks. Applications are now being accepted through Friday, Jan. 14, wherever hunting and fishing licenses are sold, and online.

Hunters who wish to apply for one of 186 permits for the 2009 Minnesota prairie chicken season or for one of 9,330 permits for the fall turkey hunt must do so by July 31. Applications are available wherever hunting and fishing licenses are sold.
