Wild Turkey Clinic to be offered in Manteca
A wild turkey hunting clinic will be offered in Manteca on February 13. Co-sponsored by the California Department of Fish and Game (DFG), the National Wild Turkey Federation's (NWTF) Foothill Bearded Flyers Chapter and Bass Pro Shops, the one-day clinic will provide information on hunting turkeys during winter and fall hunting seasons.The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) will soon seek citizen input on nearly a dozen different hunting season options.
ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE OPENING OF BIG ISLAND 2010 SPRING BEARDED TURKEY SEASON - Feb. 17, 2010
The Department of Land and Natural Resources announces the opening of the 2010 Spring Bearded Turkey Hunting Season on Monday, March 1, 2010. The spring season will run 31 consecutive days through Wednesday, March 31, 2010. The spring season will be for bearded turkeys only in locations identified below.

Q. When will the new turkey rules be available? A. Turkey hunters looking for the new rules can find them on the Fish and Game Web site at: http://fishandgame.idaho.gov/cms/hunt/rules/ug/. Because of changes in other upland game bird seasons, the new rule book has not yet been printed. Turkey rules for spring general and controlled hunts will be printed on a separate handout in the coming week. All the rest of the turkey rules will be in the Upland Game, Furbearer and Turkey rule book. The new books have been delayed to later this summer. But the new book will cover fall turkey, other upland game and furbearers for 2010 and 2011.

Hunters registered 7,073 birds during the Sept. 12 through Nov. 19 regular season and 1,192 birds during the Nov. 30 through Dec. 31 extended season in turkey zones 1 ? 5. In 2008, 10,698 birds were registered in the fall harvest.

It is the responsibility of hunters to find out whether they were successful in the controlled hunt drawing.

On March 27, the Flint Hills Gobblers Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation and the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks Hunter Education Program will conduct its 9th Annual Spring Turkey Hunting Clinic. The event will take place at Camp Alexander, near Emporia, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The free event is open to anyone interested in learning how to become a better turkey hunter, especially youth.
