CONCORD, N.H. -- New Hampshire's five-day fall shotgun turkey hunting season takes place Monday through Friday, October 12-16, 2009, in 8 select Wildlife Management Units (WMUs) in the Connecticut River Valley and southwest portions of the state (WMUs D1, D2, G, H1, H2, I1, I2 and K). The fall archery season for turkey runs September 15 - December 15 statewide (except WMU A in northern N.H.).
W.Va. DNR Forecasts Higher Fall Wild Turkey Hunting Harvest - Oct. 06, 2009
SOUTH CHARLESTON, W.Va. - The West Virginia Division of Natural Resources predicts a slightly higher harvest of wild turkeys during the 2009 fall hunting season compared to the fall 2008 harvest of 1,206, according to Paul Johansen, Assistant Chief in Charge of Game Management for DNR. This prediction is based upon the increased number of turkey broods reported in July and field notes reported by cooperators in the 2009 West Virginia Mast Survey and Hunting Outlook.

Rumors are cropping up - especially in southern Missouri - that the Conservation Department might cancel this year's fall firearms turkey season. This is not true, but like most rumors, it started with a grain of truth. The Arkansas Game & Fish Commission recently announced it was cancelling its fall turkey season. Someone got the message wrong and transferred the closure to Missouri.
