CHEYENNE - Wyoming turkey hunters are reminded the deadline to apply for resident and nonresident limited quota licenses is Feb. 1. The deadline for landowner spring turkey licenses is Jan. 20.
Applications are accepted online at the Game and Fish Web site http://gf.state.wy.us or through conventional mail. Regulations showing quotas, seasons, and general and limited quota hunting areas are also available online and at license agents.
For hunters wanting to hunt general license areas, both resident and nonresident licenses may be purchased until May 20 at automated license agents, Game and Fish offices and through the Game and Fish Web site.
Hunters should be aware that after the initial drawing is completed, a person may apply for and receive up to two turkey licenses provided that at least one of those licenses is a limited quota type 3 license. A hunter can also apply for a type 3 license in the drawing. Hunters may only submit one application for the limited quota drawing. The second license must be obtained after the drawing is conducted. However, no person shall apply for and receive more than a total of two wild turkey licenses valid for the spring season. During the upcoming spring wild turkey season, hunt area 1 (Black Hills) and 9 (Natrona County) have type 3 licenses.
