Drawings Planned for 2010 Lake Sonoma Fall Turkey Hunts - Oct. 12, 2010
The permit drawing application deadline is approaching for two fall turkey hunts planned for the Lake Sonoma Turkey Hunt Program. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) is providing this special hunting opportunity in cooperation with the Department of Fish and Game (DFG). The hunts will be held on USACE property surrounding Lake Sonoma in Sonoma County.

The Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) reminds sportsmen that the 2010 fall archery hunting season for deer and wild turkey opens September 15. From September 15 to December 31, bowhunters can hunt for both deer and turkeys on designated state lands and on private land where they have written permission of the landowner. In zone 11 (Fairfield County area) and zone 12 (Connecticut shoreline towns), archery hunters can hunt for deer and turkeys from September 15, 2010, until January 31, 2011.

Leftover fall 2010 wild turkey permits go on sale August 28 - Aug. 24, 2010
Remaining permits for the 2010 fall turkey hunting season will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis starting Saturday, August 28.
